Be-Ton-Miner

Privacy Policy & Terms of Use

Last updated: 27 July 2026 · Version 1.0

The short version

Be-Ton-Miner is a single-player study game. There is no account, no sign-up and no login. Your progress, your settings and any photos you take stay on your device. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising, and we do not build a profile of you.

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers the Be-Ton-Miner mobile application (“the app”). By installing and using the app you agree to this policy and to the terms set out below. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. What the app stores on your device

All of the following is written to your device's private application storage. None of it is transmitted to us.

DataWhy it exists
Game progressCredits, workings, upgrades, licences, achievements and story position, so you can close the app and come back.
Study progressWhich lessons you have read and how well you answer each safety sign, so practice can focus on your weak signs.
PreferencesLanguage, haptics, reduced effects, high-contrast tiles and notification choices.
Optional crew cardA display name and badge, if you choose to create one. This is cosmetic and never leaves the device.
Sign logbookWhich safety signs you identified with the Sign Scanner, and when.

Deleting the app removes all of it. You can also erase everything from Settings → Data → Reset All Progress.

3. Camera and photo library

The Sign Scanner lets you photograph a real safety sign, or pick a photo you already have, so the app can suggest which sign it is and explain what it means.

The Sign Scanner is a study aid, not a safety assessment. It narrows the field by shape and colour and then asks you to confirm. Always obey the sign in front of you and your own site's rules, not the app.

4. Notifications

The app can send you local reminders — that your sorting charges have refilled, that your production buffer is full, or a daily nudge to study. Notifications are off until you turn them on in Settings, and each type has its own switch. You can revoke permission at any time in your device settings.

The app also supports push messages for service announcements. To deliver them, a random installation identifier and a push token are registered with our messaging provider. That identifier is not linked to your name, your email or any account, because the app has none of those.

5. What we do not do

6. Purchases

Be-Ton-Miner contains no in-app purchases and no real-money currency. Credits, Shards and Survey Marks are fictional and are earned only by playing.

7. Educational content — important

The app teaches mine safety signage and underground safety theory. The signage follows ISO 7010, the international scheme most workplaces use, plus atmosphere and ground-control placards of the kind used in mining. It is a learning game.

8. Terms of use

Licence

You are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for private, non-commercial purposes. You may not redistribute, resell, decompile or reverse-engineer it, except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded.

Content

All artwork, text, characters and game design in the app are protected. The story, its characters, the Bĕton Deep and the Cascade are entirely fictional; any resemblance to real people, companies or incidents is coincidental.

Availability and liability

The app is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the app, including loss of saved progress. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Your rights

Because the app stores everything locally and holds no account, you already have direct control over your data: you can view it in the app, reset it from Settings, or remove it entirely by deleting the app. If you are in a jurisdiction granting rights of access, correction or erasure, those rights are satisfied by these controls.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be shown in the app before you continue, and the date at the top of this page will change.
